Family Nutrition and Meal Planning
Knowing what to eat and how to approach eating for one is hard; adding a whole family to the mix can sometimes feel impossible! Having a realistic plan for tackling getting dinner on the table can enhance physical wellness, but research has also shown that eating as a family:
—Improves academic performance
—Supports higher levels of self-esteem
—Provides a greater sense of resilience
—Lowers the risk of substance abuse
—Lowers the risk of teen pregnancy
—Lowers the risk of depression
—Lowers the likelihood of developing eating disorders
—Lowers the rates of unhealthy weight status
Our team at Lotus Therapy Group values family and wants to make eating easier. Our dietitians create individualized plans with families to manage all aspects of food including grocery shopping, meals prep, meal planning, picky eaters, and introducing solids to our new family additions. We also address other factors holding us back from nutritional well-being at home, like unhealthy mindsets around body and food, poor eating examples we might have grown up with, and time constraints.
