It is important to understand that grief never leaves a person; the loss stays with them forever. We don’t “move on,” but we can move forward. When grief is new, the pain we feel is often intense and consistent. It can seem unrelenting. Over time, the pain can be felt less frequently. You may start to notice that some days feel easier than others. However, you will still have moments when the pain feels just as intense as it did in the beginning.
